FFPS, representing the Selective Perfumery community

The French Federation of Selective Perfumery represents all the players in selective distribution: chains, franchises, department stores, associated trade and independents. It represents and defends, addressing the public authorities, brands and other stakeholders, the activity specific to Selective Perfumery and the professions of the 17,770 people working in it.

Our priorities

As a professional organisation, the FFPS represents its members to defend their interests before the public authorities, while also providing them with the services needed to develop their activity.

The FFPS takes action in the following areas:

Defending the Exemption Regulation, which is due to expire in 2022
Negotiating branch agreements under the new collective agreement,
Setting up training courses for employees (certification for the role of sales consultant in perfumery).
Defending a sustainable footprint for selective activities through cooperation with players upstream and downstream.
Enhancing the image of the profession and providing information about the challenges facing the sector with its stakeholders.

Our priorities

Comme organisation professionnelle, la FFPS représente ses adhérents pour défendre leurs intérêts auprès des pouvoirs publics tout en leur apportant les services nécessaires au développement de leur activité.

La FFPS agit dans les domaines suivants :

La défense du règlement d’exemption dont la prochaine échéance est en 2022
La négociation des accords de branche dans le cadre de la nouvelle convention collective,
La mise en place des parcours de formation pour les salariés (certification du métier de Conseillère(er) Beauté en Parfumerie Sélective).
La défense d’une empreinte durable des activités du sélectif à travers la coopération avec les acteurs amont et aval
La valorisation de l’image de la profession et l’information sur les enjeux du secteur auprès de ses parties prenantes .

Projects of importance to the profession

The FFPS, which is involved in projects of importance to the profession, has equipped itself with commissions and working groups:

The Social Committee is working on an overhaul of the national collective agreement that organises relations between employees and employers in the sector. It is also working on a blueprint for a new target-specific training offer. (Link to Taking part in training page)
The Logistics Committee is dedicated to modernising the supply chain, in collaboration with the FEBEA (Federation of Beauty Companies) and manufacturers and distributors, in collaboration with the GSI and ECR France standardisation bodies
The Legal Affairs Committee sees to the enforcement, observation and compliance with European rules (VEBR) governing Selective Distribution in perfumery.

The Social Committee
The national collective agreement on retail perfumery and aesthetics of 11 May 1978 was rejected by all employers’ organisations on 4 July 2008.They voted this decision in order to introduce new collective agreements:
- A collective agreement concerning aesthetics and technical and vocational education related to the profession of aesthetics, which was signed in 2011 and has been applicable since 1 June 2012.
- A collective agreement concerning the retail trade in the selective distribution of perfumery and beauty is still in the process of negotiation.
After three years’ notice, the Perfumery-Aesthetics CCN expired on 28 October 2011. Since then, in the absence of new provisions, companies in the profession have applied the Labour Code and maintained the individual benefits acquired by employees in office at the time of the termination of the CCN (seniority bonus, seniority leave, language bonus, etc.).

The Logistics Committee

In 2010, the Fédération Française de la Parfumerie Selective (FFPS) created a Logistics Committee whose purpose is to conduct a reflection and make proposals to modernise and optimise the supply and delivery chains of its members and their customers.
Since 2010, this Committee, made up of selective distribution professionals, has participated in steering groups set up between manufacturers and distributors in collaboration with the GSI and ECR France standardisation bodies, under the aegis of the FFPS and the FEBEA.
Among the achievements of this tripartite work between manufacturers, distributors and certification bodies: the good logistics practice manual for merchant flows in warehouses available to perfumery professionals since October 2011, the standardisation of EDI messages (exchange of computerised data), standardisation of product fact sheets, which enables better information sharing on products between the various players, in 2012, the logistics best practices manual for the withdrawal of cosmetic products, the logistics best practices manual on standard indicators, since 2013, an “electronic invoicing, my first steps” guide with our partner GSI and since 2014, the best practices manual for non-merchant flows (e.g. POS advertising) which account for 50% of the volume of exchanges in selective perfumery.
